The adjustment of salaries since July 2021 (cost of living 2020), will be +1,9% for Brussels and Luxembourg and should be paid with the salary of February or March 2022, with a retroactive date of July 1st 2021 (a backpay of 8 or 9 months).

Concerning the cost of living 2021, the index will be calculated and published by Eurostat in October 2022.

The missing 2.5% of 2020 will be applied when the European Union’s GDP returns to its 2019 level. GDP in 2021 was below 2019. There is a good chance that 2022 will reach 2019 GDP, which will trigger the recovery of the frozen 2.5% in 2020. We are keeping an eye on the economic situation.
